Project Overview

Situation

Candlestick Park made history as a hometown stadium. For almost 50 years, it was cherished ground for fans of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, until it closed in 2013. FivePoint, the largest real estate developer in California, plans to reimagine the former stadium into a new mixed-use community, offering San Franciscans a fresh destination to work, play and live.

Approach

When FivePoint was ready to name streets in the Candlestick development after athletes who had played there, AMF was there to handle public relations, making sure the right outlets were in the room and had all the facts at their fingertips.

Outcome

It wasn’t difficult to win the day as AMF’s aggressive pre-event push saw many media outlets, ranging from ESPN to the L.A. Times, converge on San Francisco’s City Hall for the naming ceremony. The news reached more than 166.6 million viewers.

Deliverables

Public Relations

AMF Media Group’s efforts came together at the naming ceremony, where Bay Area sports stars arrived in support of the new FivePoint Candlestick development.
